Mrs. Hollifield was born in Yancey County and was a daughter of the late William and Margaret Biggs Silvers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Floyd C. Hollifield who died in 1989, and by two sons, Floyd Hollifield, Jr. and Jack Hollifield. Mrs. Hollifield was the last of ten children.
Surviving are two daughters, Edna Jones of Swannanoa and Leila Proffitt of Asheville; five sons, Buddy Hollifield of Waco, NC, and Ed Hollifield of Burnsville, Henry Hollifield, Dewey Carl Hollifield and J.D. Hollifield, all of Asheville; 21 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren.
Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park
