Leona M. Heeter

Leona M. Heeter, 71, of Huntingdon RD 4, died of natural causes at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, Friday (July 28, 1989) at noon.

Mrs. Heeter was a homemaker. She was a member of Trough Creek United Methodist Church at Todd and Woodcock Valley Lady Lions Club.

She was a 1936 graduate of Saxton-Liberty High School.

She was born March 16, 1918, in Altoona, a daughter of Jesse E. and Viola Wilson Kensinger. On June 10, 1936, in Saxton, she married Royer A. Heeter, who died Nov. 28, 1986.

She is survived by two daughters: Irene Mong of Pennsylvania Furnace and Betty Ruhlman of Trough Creek Valley; one son, Dennis A. of Alexandria RD; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Jesse Kensinger of Brodheadsville, Robert Kensinger of Akron, Ohio, and Kenneth Kensinger of Blacklick; and three sisters: Virginia Robb of McConnellstown, and Ruth Eichelberger and Dorothy Worthy, both of Saxton.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Trough Creek United Methodist Church, Todd, with the Rev. William Jones officiating. Burial will be at Trough Creek Cemetery, Todd.

Friends will be received at Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon, today after 7 p.m. and at the church Sunday from 1 p.m. until the hour of services.
