Genevieve Lenora Beal, age 71, of St. Elizabeth, died Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born in Granite City, Illinois on August 8, 1936, a daughter of the late Fred and Helen Caroline (Bixler) Landreth. On September 20, 1952 in Vienna, she was married to Wilmer Beal, who preceded her in death on December 13, 2003.

A homemaker, she was a member of the St. Elizabeth First Baptist Church.

Those who survive her include: three children, Neva Wieberg and husband Martin of St. Elizabeth, Pamela Huhmann and husband Vernon of Meta and Steven Beal of Granite City, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two brothers, Fred "Dutch" Landreth of Eldon and Tom Landreth of Columbia; eight half brothers and sisters, Lohman Landreth of Hartsville, Joyce Duncan of St. Elizabeth, Jeannie Robinett of Brumley, Gerry Amlin of Hartsville, Vera Woods of Tuscumbia, Becky Henson of Jefferson City, Mike Landreth of St. Anthony and Bob Landreth of Brumley and dearest family friend, Debra Hayes.

One son, Thomas Eugene Beal, one granddaughter, Kendra Nicole Beal and one daughter-in-law, Joyce Lee Beal, also preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 29, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Gene Edwards will officiate. Interment will be in Capps Cemetery near Tuscumbia.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Capps Cemetery.
