Albert Alenonzo Burgess, 49, of Burlington, died at 9:05 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2009 at his home.
Born on October 5, 1959, in Keokuk, IA, the son of Albert Sr. and Elizabeth Sprague Burgess. Ruth and Glen Burgess raised him from childhood. He married Joyce Cermack on July 12, 2009, in Burlington, Iowa.
He was a roofer and was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; his mother, Elizabeth Ricketts of Keokuk; and his father, Albert Burgess Sr. of Keokuk; brother Gary Burgess of Carthage, half-brothers Morris Ricketts and Glen Sprague of Keokuk and Melvin Burgess of Paxton, IL; half-sisters Alberta Thompson of Ft. Madison, Linda Hall and Debbie Jefferson of Keokuk and Elizabeth Collins of Wichita, KS; Glenn and Ruth Burgess who raised him; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, two half-brothers and one son.
The funeral service for Albert Alenonzo Burgess will be held on Friday, July 31, 2009, at DeJongs Funeral Home, 917 Blondeau St., Keokuk, IA, at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be at a later date. The family will receive friends in DeJongs Funeral Home one hour prior to the service on Friday.
