Funeral services for Velma Mae Wilson, 92, of Lubbock will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at First Baptist Church, Sundown, with Rev. Randy Winfrey officiating. Burial will follow in Sundown Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home. She died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008 at her home. She was under care of NursCare Hospice.
Born on Dec. 2, 1915, in Childress, to W. A. and Mary Stone Gillham, she moved to Sundown in 1946. She married Woodrow Wilson July 11, 1934 and he died in 1978. She then moved to Slidell, La. where she resided until 1991 when she relocated to Lubbock. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by two sons, William Woodrow (Butch) Wilson and Jack Wilson.
