Roberts mom died when he was very young so he became a Orphan & his aunt took him in. She didn't take very good care of him though. When he became a adult he went to Huntington, Suffolk, New York & lived in Nelson Varney & Wife Hattie as a Hired Hand/Servant. So he was being paid to do the housework & Helping Train horses & Farming work. The man Nelson Varney he was living with was a Horse trainer breaking horses in to be able to ride on roads & tracks. Robert lived there in the 1900 Census until his death in 1913. He was sent to Virginia to be buried with his family
