John Frogg III was born on May 26, 1745 to John Frogg II and Elizabeth Strother in Prince William County, Virginia. In 1773, John and Agatha Frogg moved to the Town of Staunton in Augusta County, Virginia. In late 1774 John Frogg enlisted as a sutler to the Virginia Militia against cornstalk and was killed at the Battle of Point Pleasant leaving one daughter, Elizabeth Frogg. and one son, Charles A. Stewart
