News has been received here of the death of Mr. C. W. Owens at Pecan Gap. Mr. Owens was an ex-federal soldier and at the time of his death was postmaster at Pecan Gap. For the past twenty years he had made Texas his home and enjoyed the love and confidence of the people among whom he lived for his service as a Baptist minister.
