John Herman Kranawetter, 80, of Neunert, died near his home about 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
Jackson County Coroner Floyd Crawshaw said death was due to natural causes. He said Mrs. Kranawetter was returning home after walking with a grand son from the house to the river about one half to three-fourths of a mile away, when he collapsed.
He was born Feb. 25, 1881, at Pocahontas, Mo., a son of Joseph and Ernestina Kranawetter.
He was married Oct. 25, 1908, at Jacob, to Anna Rose Stueve, who died Nov. 13, 1961. He belonged to the Christ Lutheran Church at Neunert.
Mr. Kranawetter leaves sons, George and John, both of Jacob; daughters, Elsie Kranawetter, Jacob, Mrs. Alma Curlett, St. Louis, Mrs. Hulda Wichern, Wittenberg, Mo., Mrs. Emma Enke, Altenberg, Mo; brothers, Reinhold, Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Benjamin, Frohna, Mo.; sisters, Mrs. Emma Bendel, Chester, and Mrs. Bertha Schlempert, Cape Girardeau, and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Christ Lutheran Church, Neunert, with the Rev. W. O. Petzholdt, officiating. Burial will be in the Fountain Bluff Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the Schroeder Funeral Home Chapel, Chester, until 11 a.m. Monday, when the body will be taken to the church.
