AVA — Elsie Ruth Bodenschatz, 92, died at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007 in the Rehab and Care Center in Murphysboro.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, in St. Peter Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill, with the Rev. Josepha Lecke officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Friday at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter Chime Fund or Christ Lutheran Remodeling Fund.
Mrs. Bodenschatz was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.
She was born Aug. 27, 1914, in Jacob to Herman and Rose (Stueve) Kranawetter.
She married George F. Bodenschatz on June 14, 1969 in Christ Lutheran Church, Jacob. He passed away Feb. 21, 2001.
Survivors include one stepson, Allen Vernon Bodenschatz of Kimberling City, Mo.; three stepgrandchildren, six great-stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Hulda Wichern and Emma Enke, both of Altenburg, Mo.; and nieces and nephews and their spouses, Charles and Sachiko Curlett of Las Vegas, Nev., Jim and Rhonda Enke, Jerry and Louise Enke, Harold and Doris Fritsche and Shirlene and Calvin Schaupert, all of Perryville, Mo., Karen and Tony Mayberry of Rockwood, Bonnie and Louie Heiple of Ava, Ronnie and Trish Kranawetter of Jacob, Christine and Doug Thies of Campbell Hill, Bobby and Patty Wichern of Pinckneyville, and Carol Ann and Duane Wunderlich of Altenburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, George, John and Ruddy and one sister, Alma Curlett.
