PRIVATE JOHN LUTHER WARREN


John L. Warren , 60 , died on Sunday evening at his home after a sudden illness.


A native of Emanuel County, Ga. and a son to the late Mr. & Mrs. Josiah Warren of Emanuel County, Ga.


He was a Private in Company 'C' 32nd Georgia Vol Infantry CSA

In Emanuel County is where he met and married Wealtha Woodard (a sister to Ambrose Woodard) where they had at least 14 children.


John moved his family from Emanuel County to Ware County in the 1860's and lived 3 or 4 miles eastwardly from Waycross.

His wife died on February 25, 1873 and was buried in Thomas Cemetery near their home.

That's when on August 18, 1876 he got married the second time to Drusilla Hickox (daughter of David Hickox) she has never been married until now at her age of 44 years ole.


John passed and was buried by his first wife in Thomas Cemetery.
