Mrs. Cynthia Padgett, age 82 years, passed away at her home at Gaskin, Friday, December 14, from a heart attack.
The deceased had lived in that community since 1902, coming from Covington, Alabama, at that time.
She was married twice and is survived by three sons, Lloyd Mosely of Gaskin, C. K. Padgett of DeFuniak, and R. Q. Padgett of Atmore, Alabama, and 23 grandchildren and other relatives.
She was the mother of seven sons, four of whom preceded her in death. Mrs. Padgett had acquired, by her own efforts, a good farm, having ploughed in the field and did other work that pioneer women have done in ages past.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock at the Gaskin Baptist Church, Rev. Thomas conducting the service. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
