Harold was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 9, 1926. Son of John H. and Alice A. Chase. His very early years were spent in California. He returned to Utah in 1924. Attended Garfield-Irving Jr. High, South High School, and Utah State University. Harold served for two and a half years in the Navy (South Pacific) during World War II.
On his return he married his eternal companion and childhood sweetheart, Dorthey Brough in the Salt Lake Temple on October 29, 1945. Harold owned and operated Chase Tire Co. for over 30 years. He loved gardening and enjoyed traveling with his family. After his retirement he helped Dorthey open Quilt Etc. in Sandy, Utah. He loved to greet the ladies on his special bench in front of the store. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in the Bishopric, High Priest Group Leader, Elders Quorum Presidency, Sunday School President and Scout Master. He loved people and enjoyed many friends. His family was his greatest joy and he loved them all dearly.
He was preceded in death by his son, Harold L. Chase and is survived by two sons and two daughters, Don (Carol), Patricia (Jeff), Carol Margaret, John (Lisa), 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. We will all miss him so very much and love him always.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 25, 2008 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary located at 4760 South State Street in Murray, Utah at 11:00 a.m. A Viewing will be held Sunday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary and also one hour prior to the Services on Monday.
Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
