Mrs. Amelia Swift Manice, 86, of Jonestown, Miss., owner of Eagle's Nest Plantation and widow of DeForest Manice, died yesterday at her home. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Eagle's Nest Mound Cemetery in Jonestown. McInnis-Porter Funeral Home of Clarksdale, Miss., has charge. Mrs. Manice, a former Memphian, and granddaughter of the late James Lusk, former Mississippi governor, leaves two daughters, Mrs. Charles Roby Hicks of Mobile and Mrs. Richard Perry Spencer of Columbus, Ga. Demur and appealing is this picture of Miss Amelia Swift taken the year she made her debut in 1907-08. She is now Mrs. Amelia Swift Manice of 591 Melrose. Three generations of her family have made their debuts in Memphis; first, her mother, the late Mrs. Justina Alcorn Swift, widow of Charles Jewette Swift; then Mrs. Manice, and last, her daughter, Miss Justine Rison.
