Martha's husband, Abraham Womack was the brother of my 5x great grandfather, Jacob Womack - FAG #136931639. Their parents were Richard Womack, III and the former Ann Nancy Childers.

Martha was most likely the daughter of Catherine and Robert Mitchell, who left a Granville Co., NC Will dated 4 May 1751. He named his wife, Catherine, his sons, John Mitchell, Daniel Mitchell, his daughters Susannah Glover (Mrs. George), Phoebe Glover (Mrs. John), Mary Mitchell, Martha Mitchell. Executors: friends, Jacob Mitchell and Isaac Mitchell of Lunenburg Co.

An act of Assembly, passed March 1758, some of the militia were called to service in the French-Indian War, annexed to this Act was a schedule of the names of military officers & soldiers, and citizens who furnished provisions to that militia.

Abraham was born Virginia, most likely in Henrico County, and he wrote his Hancock Co., GA Will 2 Jun 1797. He died between 2 Jun and 1 Sep 1797. He was buried on the grounds of his plantation. This area of Georgia where Abraham was buried became Taliaferro Co, GA when it was established in 1825. After Martha (nee Mitchell) Womack passed away, Abraham married 2nd Martha "Patsy" Watkins, daughter of William Watkins the former Winifred Burton.

After Abraham Womack died in 1797, his widow, Martha "Patsy" (nee Watkins) Womack married next Michael Dickson, and he died before Oct 1803. Hancock Co, GA court records has Oct 1803 as the date that John Womack proved Michael Dickson's will, and Sherwood Womack and Waller Brown were appointed appraisers. Waller Brown was married to Martha (nee Watkins) Womack's sister, Frances Watkins, and their daughter, Unity Brown was born 25 Jul 1793 in Hancock Co., GA.
