Floyd K. Nightengale, husband, father and grandpa was born in Texline, Texas to John J. and Eva (Smith) Nightengale. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Isabella, Oklahoma during the dust bowl. Floyd was one of 17 children and the 12th one to be born. Floyd grew up working hard on the family farm and in his young adult life worked at U.S. Gypsum Company, ran a road grader in Major County and worked for Lee-Jays dozer service. He was called to the U.S. Army in 1956 and served in Germany. While home on Christmas leave, Floyd married Carolyn Schmidt on December 24, 1956.

When he returned home from the service they rented a farmhouse near Isabella, Oklahoma on a 584 acre farm. While working for a local farmer the farm he and mom rented came up for sale and they purchased it in 1968. The land had several barns, corrals and seemed like the perfect start to the family farming and ranching career and enabled them to grow wheat, hay, raise cattle, chickens and have milk cows and a large garden. This became the "Home Place". Floyd continued to look for other ways to provide for the family and they had the opportunity to purchase a partnership in a Case Implement business in Newkirk, Oklahoma while still running the family farming business. When the farming and ranching business grew and several other properties were purchased and farmland was rented, the Case Implement business was sold and farming & ranching became fulltime for Floyd, Carolyn and their four children.

Floyd is survived in death by his wife Carolyn of 66 years; daughter, Kimberly DeFeo of Edmond; Doug Nightengale & wife Barbie of Fairview; Meloni Barkley and husband Jim of Nashville and Jason Nightengale and wife Jamie of Piedmont; five grandchildren, Ivy, Breanna, Max, Jeran and Jake, which he adored. His grandchildren could do anything or have anything when in his presence. Floyd is preceded in death by his parents and thirteen siblings.
