On January 4, 2023, Gene H. Arbuckle, passed away peacefully surrounded by his daughters and nephew Billy Parks. He was 80 years old.
Born to Arlie and Cora Chase – Arbuckle during World War II. He had 5 siblings, Kenneth Arbuckle, Mildred Arbuckle – Thompson, Lewis Arbuckle, Ouise Arbuckle – Blodgett, and is survived by his remaining sister, Norma Arbuckle – Clark.
He was married to Katharina Arbuckle and had 4 children with her; Terry Arbuckle – Capps, Michelle Arbuckle, Timothy Arbuckle and A. Arbuckle. He was also blessed with grandchildren, Kellen Capps, Elizabeth Klein and Bethany Haehn. He is survived by many nieces and nephews; in addition to 8 great grandchildren; Lexie Johnson, Shelbie, Ashlin, Mikey, Joey Soito and Noah, Mercy and Milton Klein and a special mention to Raelynn Johnson.
Gene was a veteran with a highly decorated military career. He retired from the army as a Command Sergeant Major, having been in special forces his entire career. As a Vietnam Veteran, he served his country with distinction, garnering a multitude of military honors. During his military career he was stationed throughout the globe, especially in the U.S., Germany, and the Pacific forum. He was an educator and leader to U.S. troops while stationed in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Gene was also embedded with the Montagnard Peoples of Vietnam. After his retirement, he continued supporting his family as owner if his own construction company until his retirement in Wichita Falls, TX.
He left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He loved his entire family unconditionally and sacrificially while working hard to provide for them. During Gene's final days, he was cared for by healthcare professionals that were exemplary in their profession. Special thanks go to Dr. Rita Kong, Dr. Klumb, Drs. of United Regional Hospital, Best Care, Elara, and Hospice of Wichita Falls. The family is grateful for all who cared for Gene.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home from 3 to 5 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel at 2 PM, with a graveside service to follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
