154th Reg. Ind. Vol. He came from an honorable family. William served his country during the Civil War. While serving his country briefly from enrollment on 3/1865 to 4/1865, like so many during that time, he contracted measles and passed away in Indianpolis, Indiana before returning home. He was buried in full uniform with exception to his sword which remains in the possession of the Clark family today. It is a symbol of not only freedom but of pride and honor.
