She attended many business affairs both in the United States and foreign countries with Welby. She was invited to tea at the White House when Lady Bird Johnson and Pat Nixon resided there. Welby and Frances attended the presidential inaugurations of John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, and Ronald Reagan. They were the parents of one daughter Melana Susan "MiMi" Frantz. They attended Central Presbyterian Church.
