John D. "Jake" Horne, age 94, went to his heavenly home after a period of declining health. He was born to John and Ethel Horne who predeceased him. He retired from Holliston Mills and was a lifelong farmer, living his entire life in Hawkins County. He enjoyed making a garden and gospel music. Jake attended Charity Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife of 58 years, Louise Byington Horne, infant brother Ralph, brothers George and Amit, and sisters Estella, Bertha, Mae, Belle, and Kate. Jake is survived by sister-in-law Pearl Byington, brother-in-law Murrell Byington (Betty), and several nieces and nephews.
