Oscar Dewitt Depriest, 66 years old, died at his home on Stella, Route 1, Friday night at 8:50 o'clock. Mr. Depriest had lived in Newton and McDonald County all of his live. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Marjorie Alice Depriest; two daughters, Mrs. Opal Wescott, Independence, and Mrs. Clyta Lewis of the home; five sons, Homer Depriest and Raymond Depriest of Stella, Route 1, Noel Depriest and Truman Depriest of Anderson, Dean Depriest, Grand Rapids, Michigan; two sisters, Mrs. Bettie Butts, Anderson, Mrs. Jennie McIntosh, British Columbia Canada; a brother, Rufe Depriest, Springdale, Arkansas; 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
His granddaughters will be flower bearers at his funeral and his grandsons and nephews will be pallbearers.
The body will be returned to the family home from the Williams funeral home at Goodman this afternoon. Funeral services will be conducted from the Union Church at Bethpage this afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Rev. Milard Box of Anderson. Burial will be in Owsley Cemetery under the direction of the Williams Funeral Home.
