Junie was a United States Navy Veteran of WW II, Seaman 1st Class serving aboard the Amphibious LST 1015 having served in the Palau Islands, Angular Island, Philippines Leyte Island, Samar Island, Luzon Island, Morotai Island and Okinawa.
He had been a postal carrier for the United States Postal Service in Franklin, IN for thirty years.
Junie was a member of Grace Methodist Church in Franklin and attended New Life Baptist Church in Franklin and a member of Franklin American Legion Post #205.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hiking, mushroom and ginseng hunting, and bird watching; he took care of several blue bird boxes around the county. In his younger years, he also like to squirrel hunt. He continued hiking and driving well into his 90's. He didn't know a stranger.
Survivors include his children David Bingham (Willis Mo) of Chicago, IL, Daniel Bingham (Theresa) of Franklin, IN, Deborah "Debi" Macy-Smith (Roger Smith) of Bargersville, IN and Karen Devalal (Raji) of Franklin, IN, grandchildren Suzanne Henderson (Justin), Thomas Bingham (Stephanie), Steven Bingham (Nicole), Hannah Watkins (Alex), Heather Devalal, Samuel Devalal (Olivia) and Adam Smith (Stephanie), great-grandchildren Austin Bingham, Aiden Bingham, McKenna Henderson, Brooklyn Bingham, Brooks Henderson, Abby Watkins, Lauren Bingham, Jordan Watkins, Colton Devalal and one on the way and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers James Bingham, Lawrence Bingham, Gleason Bingham, sisters Ruth Bertram, Gertie Hommel, Pauline Smith, Pearl Beard and Evelyn Rogers.
