William F. (Bill) Orzell, 95, fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday, December 22, 2022, t his home. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 75 years, Mary P. Orzell; his parents Anna and William Orzell; his mother- and father- in-law Susan and John Plavka; brothers-in-law Joseph Visocky, Ed Sedor, Joe Shapinas, Carl Paccio and Sam Mastrogiovanni; sister-in-law Anne Shapinas; his sons-in-law, Edward Nazak and Kevin Slocum; and his niece, Terry Visocky.

He is survived by his 5 children, Karinn Nazak, Nikki Slocum, Bill (Susan) Orzell, Lisa (Ed) Kachmar, Pamela Lockwood (Mike Micalizzi); 8 grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Nazak, Nick (Cathy) Nazak, Greg Nazak, Jess Cron (Erin Gopie-Lawson), Zakory Cron, Hailley (Kyle) Harvey, Jacob (Stephanie) Kachmar, Jared William Kachmar (Samantha Dougherty); 6 great grandchildren, Lindsay, Rachel, Alyvia Nazak; Zoey, Cortney Nazak, and Brayden Francis Harvey. Also survived by his sister, Dolores Visocky; sisters-in-law, Jo Sedor, Jane Mastrogiovanni and Carole Paccio; many treasured nieces and nephews.

Bill was a devoted member, former church officer and volunteer of St. Michael's Greek Catholic Church. He was a Merchant Marine veteran of World War II. A retired carpenter from Binghamton University, Bill also built the home for his family, and those for many family members. Bill was a loving father and grandfather. He was a huge sports fan, especially Syracuse University, and was the lead cheerleader for his grandchildren's games (Hah-dah! Hah-dah!). Bill enjoyed visits from family and friends, and frequently joined the family at DeRuyter Lake.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at St. Michael's Greek Catholic Church, 296 Clinton St., Binghamton, NY. A funeral service will be offered by Very Rev. Protopresbyter James Dutko at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Michael's Church or to Your Home Public Library, 107 Main St., Johnson City, NY 13790.
