Viola L. Kurth, 85, of Dalton, Neb., died June 22 at Poudre Valley Medical Center in Fort Collins, Colo.
She was born Sept. 27, 1914, in Stromsburg, Neb. She lived in Wyoming for a few months.
Mrs. Kurth graduated from Gurley (Neb.)High School in 1933 and worked for many years in cafeterias in Dalton Public Schools and as a nurse at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Dalton.
She married August F.W. Kurth Jan. 16, 1934, in Sterling, Colo.
Mrs. Kurth is survived by four sons, Lyle Kurth of Dalton, Howard Kurth of Sidney, Neb., Arvin Kurth of Imperial, Neb., and Derald Kurth of Yuma, Ariz.; two daughters, Marva Smith of Cheyenne, and Connie Buxbaum of Bayard, Neb.; 24 grandchildren and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Pearl Leighty; and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Dalton Trinity Lutheran Church in Dalton with Pastor Virginia Bunning officiating. Interment will follow in the Dalton Cemetery.
