He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marian Anderson Ashdown, and the following children: Arlene Stransky (George) of Walnut, CA, Deborah Chelsey (Lon) of Covington, WA, Paul Ashdown (Suzanne), Karen Marchant (Chris) and Jon Ashdown (Tonia) of Cedar City, Utah, Susan Arb (Frank) of Forsyth, MT, Marilyn Prisbrey (Mark) of Logandale, NV, Lenore Carrier (Craig) of Highland, UT; 39 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Eldon was educated in the Cedar City public schools graduated from LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah, with an accounting degree. Eldon served his country honorably for four years in the US Army Air Force during World War II. He spent most of his working years as bookkeeper/office manager for Leigh Furniture and Carpet Company in Cedar City, Utah, and retired after 40 years of service. He was a member of the LDS Church. He aspired to no civic or religious office, spending any available free time with his family, who will sorely miss the time he devoted to them.
Funeral Services will be Friday, February 22, 2008, at 11:00 am in the Southern Utah Mortuary Chapel. Friends may call Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Mortuary.
Interment in the Cedar City Cemetery.
