Arnold Lee Acres, 53, of Oneida, died Monday, June 2, 1997, at the Scott County Hospital. Born in Scott County on October 24, 1943, he was the son of the late Melvin and Ella Terry Phillips Acres. He also was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Acres; a half-brother, Maxwell Phillips; and a half-sister, Marie Phillips. He is survived by a son, Kris Acres of Oneida; two daughters: Grace Hill and husband, John, of Oneida; and Laura Kidd and husband, Dennis, of Calhoun, Ga.; two brothers: Estel Acres and Hett Phillips; and two sisters, Lucille Evans and Hazel Trammell. Many nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Graveside services were held Thursday, June 5, at the Pine Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Cole officiating.
