Kimberly West "Kim" Cummings passed away suddenly at her parents' home in Portsmouth after a brief illness. Kim was born Aug. 27, 1968, in Morehead City, N.C. She leaves behind her husband, Buddy; beloved son, Jacob "Jake" Poole; stepson, Buddy Cummings Jr. and his friend Sarah; parents, Lynda and Robert Monacelli; sister, Claire; and a grandchild, Hayden Cummings. Kim leaves behind her grandparents, Katie and Gene Herring with whom she spent many happy summers as a child. She also leaves many loving family members and friends and her best cat, Chelsey. Kim was a graduate of Manor High School, Class of 1986, and attended Old Dominion University. She worked 13 years at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Tim Lambert. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Chartway Bank in a trust fund for her son, Jacob Poole.
