Born in Middlefield, Otsego, NY, son of Peter Jr. & Lydia Pratt Nash Treat. Graduated Geneva Medical College, 1848, practiced in Smithville untill 1851. Settled in Stockbridge, 1853, and practiced here untill 1877, then engaged in Mercantile business. First wife (1849)Louise A. Fox, second wife (1877) Maria A. Skaden.
