The body of William Welch, 82-year-old resident of Gloster, Miss., who passed away here Monday afternoon, was conveyed to Gloster yesterday for interment. Mr. Welch died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Claire Comeaux, 530 St. Anthony street.

Mr. Welch, a retired farmer, had been in frail health for several years, and became ill shortly after his arrival in Baton Rouge five weeks ago. Mr. Welch had lived most of his life in the vicinity of Gloster, where he was a member of the Methodist church.

He leaves five daughters and four sons, as follows: Mrs. Ella Blaylock of Centreville, Miss., Mrs. Claire Comeaux of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Lillie Offutt of Shreveport, Mrs. Essie Taylor of Stephenson, Miss., Mrs. LeNora Taylor of Scotland, La., and Monroe Welch of Centreville, Willie Welch of Vicksburg, Gene Welch of Gloster and George Welch of Vicksburg.
