The origin of the Rake cemetery is unknown. I received the following information from Millie Covey Fry via e-mail stating: "I visited the Rake Cemetery (formerly the Snodgrass farm and cemetery)on SR26 in Lawrence Township this morning with George Rake. He mentioned that a close relative has researched the Rake Family. Contact George at 740/473-2215. He mentioned this morning that the Rake family was from Germany and was in Washington County in the early 1800s. My ancestor was Hiram Snodgrass and his daughter, Sarah, married Elijah Rake. Eventually the Snodgrass cemetery was renamed."

The following information came from the Washington County Public Library in Marietta, Ohio from Chris Painter a fellow FAG member.

Married Ellen Bobbitt on December 22, 1924

No children known born to Asa and Ellen in the obituary.

Gilbert Rake of Tulsa, OK

Marvel Rake of Pampa, TX

Raymond Rake of Marshallville, OH

Robert Rake of Dart, OH

Mrs. J. O. Eddy of West Union, WV

Mrs. George Walders of Carunna, MI

The obituaries posted to this memorial show Asa's mother's first name to be Isophene. His father's obituary (George Rake) shows his mother's name as Josephine.
