Charles "Charlie" Borck, 91, died Feb. 6, 2008, at his home in Las Vegas. Charlie is survived by his wife, of 64 years, Helen Borck. A retired brewer with Anheiser-Busch, he was a very talented basketball player in his native Philippines. He was a star player with San Beda College in Manila, a team that won the National Open Championship in 1936. An inductee in the Philippine National Basketball Hall of Fame, Charlie played for the Philippine Olympic Team in the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Rosary services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, with a Funeral Mass following at 11 a.m., both at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. in Las Vegas. Arrangements by Palm Mortuary-Eastern.
