John J. Aiello, 72, of Duncannon died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002 in Harrisburg Hospital.

He retired as a tool and die engineer from the former AMP Inc., Harrisburg; was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a Purple Heart recipient; a former Republican committeeman in Harrisburg's Allison Hill section; a former Little League baseball coach with the Allison Hill Boys Club; and a member of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, Dauphin, and Lawnton American Legion Post 998.

Surviving are his wife, Joanne Ferber Aiello; two daughters, Gina Aiello Paredes of Middletown and Patti Aiello Hunter of Illinois; a son, John J. Jr. of Dauphin; a brother, Samuel of York Springs; a sister, Judy Miceli of Mechanicsburg; and four grandsons, Jaime and Jason Paredes, both of Middletown, and Zachary and Alexander Hunter, both of Illinois.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Feb. 2 in St. Patrick Cathedral, Harrisburg. Burial, with military honors, was in Resurrection Cemetery, West Hanover Twp.
