Information from other researchers state that Sarah Ellen Bailey was born in West Virginia on Jan 26, 1850, to parents Reuben Patterson Bailey (1817-1887), and Athena Ann Lankford (1820-1900).
In December 1878, Sarah married William D. McIntire, born in Kentucky (1834-1901). William was a son of Nicholas McIntire (1802-1859), and Eliza D. Sims (1802-1892), both born in Kentucky.
William and Sarah settled in Jefferson County, Montana, where William was a miner, and had five known children: William McIntire (1880-1962), Elsie McIntire (1882-), Elizabeth "Jed" McIntire-Crowley (1886-1957), Pearl McIntire-Oldhaber (1889-1970), and Dr. Howard Dixon McIntire (who went by McIntyre) (1890-1957), all born in Montana.
After Sarah died in 1890, the youngest child, Howard, who was born shortly before his mother died was then found living with William's brother Andrew in Kentucky. The other children remained with their father in Montana.
Sarah is buried in Boulder Cemetery with William.
