MOYER, Carson Menno, May 3, 1926 - Feb. 14, 2008, suddenly at his home at the age of 81 years. Cherished husband of Ellen Moyer (nee Martin). Beloved father of Keith Moyer and his wife Bev Klassen, John Moyer and his wife Kathleen Cleland Moyer, Susan Moyer, and Becky Huber and her husband Roland. Loving grandfather of Jenna, Dana, Luke, Jonathan, Joel, Katrina, Talina, Stephanie, Dylan and Justin. Carson is survived by his brother, David Moyer and his wife Yvonne; his sister, Joan Moyer; his brother, Jim Moyer and his wife Beth and his sister-in-law, Eleanor Moyer. Sadly missed by Ellen's family, Florence Wideman, Viola and George Wallace, Lloyd Martin, Laura and Milo Shantz and Abner and Shirley Martin, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Menno and Maggie Moyer (nee Snyder) and his brother, Blake Moyer. Carson was born in Vineland, Ont. in 1926. Much of his life was devoted to the work of the church, as a missionary in Ghana, a buyer and consultant for the Christian education department at Provident Bookstore, and a member of the Mennonite Historical Society. Carson was also a fruit grower and a friendly face at the Farmer's Market to many people in his semi-retirement. He also enjoyed wood working, travelling with his wife and time spent with his grandchildren and church friends. Friends are invited to share their memories of Carson with his family at Mannheim Mennonite Church, 1521 Bleams Road in Mannheim on Sunday, February 17, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday, February 18, 2008 from 1-1:45 p.m. followed by the funeral service to celebrate Carson's life and faith at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ruth Anne Laverty officiating. Interment will follow in the Mannheim Mennonite Church Cemetery, Mannheim. Following the committal service, friends are invited to join the family back in the Church for refreshments and a time to visit. Condolences for the family and donations to the Mennonite Central Committee or to the Mannheim Mennonite Church can be arranged through the funeral home.

Toronto Home Planned by Bride-Doctor

A home in Toronto is planned by Dr. Ellen Martin and Mr. Carson Moyer, Toronto, who were married Saturday at St. Jacob's Mennonite Church, St. Jacobs.

Rev. Roy S. Koch officiated in a setting of chrysanthemums and fern. On octet comprising Mr and Mrs. Abner Martin, Mrs. John Hess, Miss Helen Brenneman, Miss Ferne Cressman, Mr. Donald Burkhardt, Mr. John Ford and Mr. Edward Ford, sang

BRIDE CARRIES BIBLE

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Annanias Martin, RR 3, Waterloo. Mr. and Mrs. Menno Moyer, RR 1 Blair, are the parents of the bridegroom.

A floor-length gown of white brocaded satin was worn by the bride. She carried a Bible with an orchid, lily-of-the-valley and stephanotis.

Mrs. Milo D. Shantz, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a floor length crystalette gown in turquoise and carried yellow roses with lily-of-the-valley with stephanotis.

Mr. David Moyer was best man for his brother. Ushers were Mr. Milo D. Shantz, RR 2, New Hamburg and Mr. Blake Moyer, RR 1, Blair.

TRAVELS TO NORTH

A reception was held in the basement of the church. Receiving, the bride's mother wore a navy and white shantung frock with yellow sweetheart roses and lily-of-the-valley.

The bridegroom's mother chose a navy and white silk dress with a similar corsage. For their wedding trip north, the bride wore an avocodo green frock with a gray shortie coat. Her accessories were brown and she wore an orchid corsage.
