Louis H. Larocque (1866-1923), son of Louis Larocque and Adele Beaudry Larocque, was born shortly after the Civil War in which his father participated as a member of the 2nd Massachusetts Heavy Artillery. He lived in Brewster, MA and then Acton Vale, Quebec, Canada with his parents, and married Marie (Mary) Huard in Acton Vale, Quebec, Canada 8 January, 1884. In about 1888, he and his family moved to the United States and settled in Orleans County, Vermont, where they stayed. He died at the table of a heart attack in their home in Brownington, Vermont in 1923.

Louis and Mary had 16 children in all- Albina, Leopoldine, Louis, Eva, Anna, Emery, Mary, Henry, Lena, Malvina Ida, Clara, Mabel, Donald, Merrill, Clayton, and Blanche.
