MRS. LEWIS CAYLOR

Lizzie Faber, daughter of Henry and Mary Faber, was born near Quebec, Canada, Sept. 8, 1867, and departed this life Dec. 19, 1942 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tom Catherall, at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 11 days. She came with her parents to Fulton County, Ill., living a few years there on a farm, and at the age of 13 moved wth her parents to a farm near Unionville, where she grew to young womanhood. There she was united in marriage to Lewis Caylor on Oct. 9, 1887. Most of her married life was spent on farms near Udell, Iowa, moving to Centerville in November, 1935, and the last part of her life was spent here. She leaves to mourn her death three daughters, Mrs. Hattie Catherall of Centerville, Iowa; Mrs. Zelma Beck of Long Beach, Calif.; and Mrs. Mae Boharques of Venice, Calif. Five grandchildren, Vivian Waltz, Dolores Hale, Jack Climie and Don Boharques of California and Buhles Catherall of Davenport, Iowa; two great-grandchildren, Howard Climie and Terry Lynn Catherall. She leaves two sisters, Miss Anna Faber of Ottumwa, Ia., and Mrs. Pauline Abrams of Des Moines, Ia. She is preceded in death by her husband, father, mother, three sisters and one brother.
Mother Caylor gave evidence of her close relationship with God, by her great interest in Bible study. Especially during the last few years has she studied the Holy Scriptures very conscientiously. Her life of unselfishness attested to the fact that she was walking in the footsteps of the Saviour, who said it is more blessed to give than receive. During her last illness she expressed no fear whatever of the future, but expressed courageously her hope of having a part in the first resurrection.
Before coming to Centerville she was a member of the M. E. church at Unionville, Iowa. During the last four years she has been a faithful attendant of the Centerville Seventh-Day Adventist church and expressed her desire to unite with this church as a member. She carefully observed the seventh day as the Sabbath and in all ways was an example of Faithfulness and Trust.
Her life was an inspiration to many and especially to her daughter with whom she maintained her home. Friends who came in to visit Mother Caylor will miss the "sweet lady with her Bible," as she has so often been thought of.
Funeral services were held at the Miller Funeral Home on Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. Paul Whitlow of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery beside her husband.

Darling Mother we will miss you
Now that you have gone away
But by faith in God we'll meet you
On the resurrection day.
