Nancy was the daughter of Amos Morgan (1788-1825) and Charlotte Charity "Lottie" Jones (1784-after 1860), who were married in Cumberland County, North Carolina on October 26, 1803. From there, her parents relocated to Chesterfield County, South Carolina, and after the 1820 Census, they moved to DeKalb County, Georgia. Amos died about 1825, and by the 1830 Census, Lottie and 7 children are shown in DeKalb County. Both Amos and Lottie died in DeKalb County; however, the Militia District shown on the 1830 (District 479), 1840 and 1850 (Stones District) Census records shifted from being in DeKalb County to being in Fulton County. Their burial place is not currently known.
