His father is as yet unknown. His mother was Lucinda / Lucindy, born about 1791. She and two of Simeon's sisters, Lina E and Lucinda E, were living with Simeon's family in Powder Springs, Cobb County, Georgia at the time of the 1850 Census. I have not yet found anything further on these family members.

Simeon enlisted in as a Private in Company C (later became Company K) of the 64th Regiment, Georgia Infantry under Captain CS Jenkins' Company, Evans' Regiment, on February 26, 1863 and served until the surrender at Appomattox on April 9, 1865 (he was a POW at the time of surrender).

Simeon's brother was Rev William W Carrell (1811-1891; ID #15830022)

This cemetery was transcribed on two occasions by Phillip Buice Anglin. The second transcription occurred during the summer of 2004. There are many unmarked graves in the older section of this cemetery.
