Bernice M. Smith, 89, formerly of Myerstown and most recently of Lake Placid, Florida passed away Monday, November 21, 2022 in her residence.
Born in Myerstown on June 05, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Levi Miller and Mamie Edna (Boltz) Achey.
Bernice was a 1951 graduate of Myerstown High School.
She married Stanley S. Smith, Jr. in 1967.
Bernice was employed as an Automotive Officer at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Lottery Headquarters for thirty-three years prior to retiring in 1995.
She was a member of St. John's (Host) Church-Bernville.
Bernice enjoyed working around the house.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Betty Mays.
Bernice is survived by her husband of fifty-five years: Stanley S. Smith, Jr.; her daughter: Lynette (Rick) Dove, of Bethel; her sons: George (Cheryl) Gerhart of Florida and Stephen (Debrah) Gerhart of Newmanstown; her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; and, her sister: Shirley Dabich of Lebanon.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 in Grose Funeral Home, Incorporated, 358 W. Washington Avenue, Myerstown. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 PM.
Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 02:00 PM.
