Abraham Haynes/Haines was born in Ohio about 1815 and married Elizabeth (unknown/Blue??) about 1835. Per their son Daniel's obituary, the family arrived in Henry County, Iowa before 1850. Abraham and Elizabeth Haynes had at least nine children:
William John; Daniel F. ; James; Mary J.; Margaret Ann; Francis; Henry L.; Sarah E. and Martha.

After Abraham's death, Elizabeth married John Baldosier in 1878 and lived with him until his death in 1886. John Baldosier is buried by his first wife in Germanville, Jefferson County, Iowa.

Per Henry County death records Elizabeth "Boldozer" (age 78 years 3 months) died in Trenton Township, Henry County, September 22, 1899 and was buried in Cottonwood Cemetery. There is no stone in Cottonwood for Elizabeth. However, there is a gravestone for Elizabeth Baldosier in Haynes Cemetery, with a death date of August 22, 1900. It's believed the date engraved on the stone is in error. Several of Abraham and Elizabeth Haynes' children and grandchildren are also interred in Haynes Cemetery.

From son Daniel F. Haynes' 1905 obituary: "He was a son of the noted Abe Haynes, who was an old timer down about Merrimac, and both of Daniel's parents are buried near Merrimac".
