Horace was born on August 24, 1937, to the late Roy and Daisy Parker in Elkhart, Texas. He attended Elkhart High School where he participated in Band and Football. Horace graduated from Elkhart High School in 1955. After graduation he proudly served in the U.S. Navy as an Aircraft Engine Mechanic from 1956 to 1960. He moved to Elmo in 1971 and married his late wife Thelma Vaughn Parker on June 13, 1981, in Terrell. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Elkhart. Horace retired from Rodden Plumbing. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting. He also loved to camp and travel.
Horace leaves behind his cousin June Nixon; family friend Alicia Wallace and Jaime Martin; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
Horace is preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Pilgrim Cemetery in Elkhart, Texas.
