Sim (Simon) Bowling had brothers Alexander and John Bowling. Sim Bowling had a grandmother Racheal Colclough (wife of Benjamin Colclough) of Stafford County, Virginia.

In Racheal Colclough's 1748 will she left a crop of tobacco to her daughter Rachael, Elias Bowling, and granddaughter Jane De Bolling, not of age. Also in the will was "to daughter Elizabeth Bowling (Fh746), a Negro, then to her son John Bowling, his brother Alexander Bowling and brother Sim Bowling". (352)

Simeon Bowling was the son of ----- and Elizabeth (Colclough) Bowling. (1159) Simon Bowling was the son of William and Elizabeth (Colclough) Bowling.
I think that there were other brothers to my Sims Bowling (Fh627) than just Alexander and John. William, George and Henry (746d) were in Washington County, Pennsylvania. (1443)

Sims Bowling and William Bowling signed an October 27, 1778, petition requesting that the state of Virginia make a division of Yohogania County, Virginia. "Pontiac's War, shortly after 1761, fueled the decision by the English Parliament to issue the Proclamation of 1763 restricting colonial expansion past the Appalachian Divide." (1844) The Bowling boys paid no attention to this restriction. (7) Sims Bowland had 174 acres, 1 horse, 3 cattle, and 3 sheep, in Cecil Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania in 1781. (273)

Sims Bowland was on the 1781 tax list of Cecil Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. Also in that township in 1781 was Mathew Bowland and Robert Boland. (2151) Sims Bolam (sic) was on the 1783 tax list of Cecil Township, Washington, Pennsylvania, with 300 acres, 3 horses, 3 cows, 8 sheep with a value of 152. On the same tax list in the same township were William Bowlin (Fh860,746j) and Robert Bolling who was listed as a "single freeman".

Will of Rachael Colclough Stafford Co., VA, WB 1729-1748, Pg 277. In the name of God Amen, I Rachael Colclough of Stafford County and Saint Paul's parish being Sick In body but of perfect Sense & Memory thanks be given to God do & Ordain this my last Will & Testament In manner & form following Items. I commit my soul into the hands of almighty God assuredly believing I shall have free pardon & remission from all my Sins in & through the merits of my only Saviour & redeemer Jesus Christ next I commit my body to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Exrs hereafter nominated & as for such worldly Estate which It hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give devise & dispose of In the following manner & form Item I give my Land In Fairfax County to be Equally divided between my sons Robert Colclough & William Colclough to them & their heirs. Robert to have his part joining to his Land where he now lives & William Colclough to the remainder. Item I give unto William Colclough one negro wench named Nell & one negro boy named Philip & a negro girl named Kate One feather bed & furniture the bed that I lay on. Item I give unto my Daughter Eliza. Bowling the Use of one negro fellow named Will until the death of Eliza Bowling & after the Death of Eliza Bowling I give the said Negro Will to her son John Bowling. Item I give unto my Daughter Mary Thornbury the use of one Negro boy named Jack and a negro Girl named Nell until her death & after the death of Mary Thornbury I give the said negroes Jack and Nell to her Children. Item I give unto Eliza Bowling the use of one negro wench named Sall for five years & If the said negro Should have any Children in that time to go to Alexr Bowling & his brother Sim Bowling. Item, I give unto my Daughter Mary Thornbury's Daughter Sarah Kidwell one feather bed bolster sheets blanket & Rugg that was her grandfathers & one Young Cow two pewter Dishes & half a Dozen pewter plates. Item I give unto my Daughter Rachael Bowling the feather bed & furniture that belongs to It whereon her Children lays on & Six head of Cattle & all my hogs & Six barrels of Indian Corn. Item I give unto my Daughter Mary Thornburys son William Kidwell one Young Cow & the money Capt. Anthony Thornton owes me being Seven pounds ten shillings. Item I give unto my Daughter Jane Newton the use of one Negro man named James & one Negro Girl named Rose until the Death of Jane Newton & after her Death I give the said Negro fellow Jas the negro Girl Rose to her Children Item I give unto my Daughter Margt. Derham the Use of one negro boy named James five years & after the five Years the said boy to go to Elizabeth Bowling & the Said Eliza. Bowling to have the use of the said Boy Five Year & then I give Him to Alexander Colelough, the son of Robert Colclough. Item I give unto my Daughter Mary Thornbury the remainder of my Cattle after Rachael Bowling Junr & Priscilla Bowling has a heiffer apiece. Item I give unto my Daughter Margaret Durham the Use of one negro boy named Harry until her death and after the Death of Margaret Derham I give the said Boy Harry to her Children. Item I give unto William Colclough the Land where I now dwell on to him & his heirs for ever Item I give unto my Daughter Margret Durham the use of one negro named Sall after five years which she Is to be with Elizi Bowling then to Margt Derham until her death and after the death of Margt Durham I give the said Negro wench Sall to her Children. Item My will & desire Is that five of the best of my pewter Dishes & one Dozen of Pewter plates be Equally divided between my Daughters Mary Thornbury, Rachael Bowling and Jane Newton. Item I give one Gray Mare called Fanny to Will Colclough & the first fole she brings to Jane Newton Item I give unto Rachael Bowling one bay horse called Spark. Item my will & desire is that my son William Colclough return the bed which I lent him formerly to my negro wench Nell at my death & the said Negro wench to have the two Iron po ts & hooks which she has In her Quarter with her & such bedding & bed clothes to go with her. Item I give & bequeath unto Robert Colclough & William Colclough's Children all my money in the house & in Major John Champe hand to be Equally between the said Children. Item My will & desire Is that after my just debts are paid my Crop of Tobo be Equally divided between my Daughters Mary Thornbury Rachael Bowling Eliza Bowling Jane Newton & Margret Durham.
