Gertrude Nowacki arrived in United States on Ellis Island. The family came from Poznan, Poland. It is likely that she lived for at least some time in the village of Guntergost/Witrocoszcz because her two sisters Cecilia/Celia and Franciszka/Frances recorded that village as their last place of residence on their Ellis Island documents (they arrived at a different time).
Gertrude married Aloysius "Louis" Nowacki in Webster and was married by Fr. Chalupka.
She died at her home on Whitcomb Street in Webster. Her obituary was published in the Webster Times on April 16, 1942.

According to the 1940 census she lived on 14 Whitcomb Street with her husband and son, Frank.
Three of Gertrude's four sisters who moved to United States are buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Josephine Nowatzke moved to Lowell, Massachusetts.
Her sisters:
Josephine Nowatzke
Cecilia Sterczala
Mary Raszka
Frances Kleczka
