David Joseph "Dave" Silva
1941 - 2022

David Joseph Silva of Las Vegas, Nevada, died September 11, 2022, at 80 years old. David was born November 9, 1941, in San Bruno, California, to Francis Benjamin and Pierina Rosina "Irene" Bughi Silva. He was a wonderful husband who cherished and took care of his dear wife with Alzheimer's until she passed in 2020. Their love story was an inspiration to many in their lives.

David was the life of the party, loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. One of our fondest memories of him was his ability to not take life too seriously and how he laughed the hardest at his own jokes. He enjoyed cooking, especially spaghetti and lasagna from his Italian heritage (a family recipe passed down.) Even more, he enjoyed eating food (especially donuts). He studied veterinary medicine at UC Davis. David was a hard worker, who excelled at medical sales while working at Medtronic for over 30 years. He and Linda were able to serve a faithful mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the London England Temple in 2006. David loved to visit the beach in San Diego, CA, with his wife, family, and dear friends the McCooks and Viers for over 40 years.

Dave was survived by his children: Dawn Marie Silva, Kimberly Silva, Lesley Ellen Moravick, Ronald Joseph Smith, Wendi Ann Canja, and Tiffany Silva Herlin. Eleven grandchildren: Corey Smith, Nichole Paskett, Kristine Smith, Jessica Jodene Leonard, Amy Jonelle Wilson, Linda Maree Smith, Jaron Christian Canja, Jonathan Damien Canja, Lucille Vilate Winder, Ruby Ann Winder, and Evelyn Linda Herlin. Twelve great-grandchildren: Mason Ryan Paskett, Brielle Nichole Paskett, Sophie Canja, Ayden Canja, Emree Canja, Tessa Anne Smith, Clara Diane Smith, Isabella Rose Smith, Ollie Wilson, Henry Wilson, Charles Wilson, and Joey Leonard. He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Linda Lewis Silva; his brother, Loyd Francis Silva; his parents Frances Silva and Irene Silva; and his stepson, Jeffery Harold Smith.

Dave will be buried next to his wife, Linda, at the Provo City Cemetery a few weeks following the services in Las Vegas, NV.

Any donations can be made to PAWS Adoption Center or St. Judes Hospital. Flowers may be sent to Provo Cemetery during business hours 8 am - 4:30 pm for Graveside Services on October 28th at 610 S State St, Provo, UT 84606.
