William Taylor Plummer, the son of Levi and Martha (Morrow)Plummer, was born in Marion County, Iowa in 1848. His parents were natives of Morgan County, Indiana,
In 1847 Levi Plummer and family moved wet and located in Marion County, Iowa.
One year later the moved to Jasper County and purchased a farm of 480 acres from the government.
William T. Plummer was educated in the schools of Jasper County, Iowa. He married at the age of 22 after which he rented a farm for himself. Three years later, the family moved to Shelby County, Iowa arriving in the summer of 1873. He bought 980 acres of land in Jackson Township, paying $10 an acre,
William Plummer was married July 9, 1870, in Jasper County, Iowa to Hattie Bean, Daughter of David and Martha (Martin) Bean. To this union Eleven children were born. Mary, Jennie, Samuel, Charles, Lee, Maude, Joseph, Everett, Annabel, Cora and Daisy.
