FRED MICHEL 1897-1991
Fred Michel, 94, died Tuesday night, Nov 12, 1991, at Russell Regional Hospital. Born Oct 12, 1897, in Russell County, he was the son of Frederick and Margaretta (Bangert) Michel. A life-time resident, he grew up on a farm south of Russell. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Martha Steinle Feb. 17, 1949, in Russell. She died Dec. 19, 1975. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Chruch, Russell [Kansas].
He is survived by three brothers, William, Rueben, and Leo, all of Russell.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pohlman's Memorial Chapel, Russell, with the Rev. Vern Bowers officiating. Burial will be in Russell City Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 9. p.m. Friday at Pohlman's Mortuary, Russell. A memorial in Mr. Michel's name has been established for Trinity United Methodist Church.
