Wanda Lucille Carr, 85, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus, Sunday, November 6, 2022, at her home in Denison, Texas.

Wanda was born May 18, 1937, in Rich Hill, Missouri, the daughter of Bill and Lucy (Palmer) Lee. She married the love of her life, Douglas Wayne Carr, August 14, 1959, in Gainesville, Texas. Wanda enjoyed the simplicity of life, singing at church with her husband, Wayne, and matching every outfit with coordinating purses and shoes. She loved to cook, especially her famous fried chicken, for her family. Wanda will be greatly missed by all who knew and love her. Although her passing leaves a void in all of our lives, she will live on forever in our hearts.

Wanda leaves behind her beloved family, daughter, Frances Burns, son, Terry Carr and wife, Sabrina, daughter, Gracie Stubbs and husband, Keith and son, Tim Carr and wife, Renee, grandchildren, Guinneve Simons, Jeremy Gilbert, Mike Downs Jr, Sam Gilbert, Lindsi Gilbert, Casi Crockett, Amy Saye, Ashley Andrews, Misty Carr, Dustin Carr Nolan, sisters, Helen Knowles, Elizabeth Todd, brothers, Butch Lee, Danny Lee, and Levy Lee.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Douglas Wayne Carr, daughter, Rose Beam, son, Thurman Carr, grandson, Tim Carr and son in law, Rocky Burns.

Funeral service for Wanda will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Trinity Lighthouse Church with Pastor Raymond England officiating. Interment will follow in Cherry Mound Cemetery. Family and friends will gather to visit from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Fisher Funeral Home in Denison.
