Stanley "Stan" Coplin, age 91, formerly of Melrose, OH, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022 at Community Hospital, Anderson. Stan was born on October 4, 1931.

He grew up on a farm in Harrison Township, Paulding County, OH, just outside of Antwerp. He was the son of the late Ralph and Edith (Kilpatrick) Coplin. He graduated from Antwerp Public High School in 1949. He served our country in the Korean conflict as a member of the U. S. Army Signal Corps between 1952 and 1954, having attended cryptography school at Camp Gordon, GA. He received the United Nations Citation, the Korean Conflict Citation with three battle stars, and the Good Conduct Metal. He was employed by Grizzly Mfg. Co., Paulding, for thirty years and later by Rite Aid Pharmacy in Delphos, OH. Stan also taught guitar lessons.

Over the years he attended Auglaize Chapel Church of God, Oakwood, OH, Rose Hill Church of God, Paulding, OH, and for the last eighteen months, South Meridian Church of God, Anderson, IN. He was very dedicated to God and God's church, serving in many capacities. Notably and most recently, Stan served as worship leader at Rose Hill Church of God. He was a staunch supporter of the Payne Camp Meeting, Payne, OH, where he served in leadership roles including president of the association and later as camp historian.

Stan loved gospel music and made music with his wife both inside the church and out. He loved playing golf, especially with his son, David. He was an avid sports fan and was a die-hard Detroit Tigers enthusiast.

Stan was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who showed his love in word and deed. He and his wife, loved most to be with family.

He is remembered best for his ready smile, wonderful voice, outstanding listening skills, wit and humor, sweet love of his wife and family, and how his life portrayed the richness of his relationship with his loving God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Stan and Janette made their home one mile outside of Melrose, OH for over sixty years. For the last eighteen months they have resided in Anderson, IN, close to their children and grandchildren.

Stan is also preceded in death by his sister, Karen Farlee.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Rose Hill Church of God with Rev. David Coplin and Pastor Ron Hofacker officiating. Burial will be held in Wiltsie Cemetery, Harrison Township, with military rites accorded by the Paulding V.F.W. Post 587.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until time of services on Monday at the church.
