FARMER CITY - Philip J. West, 82, of Farmer City, IL, passed away on November 9th, after a battle with leukemia.

Phil was born on November 5th of 1940, to Dorothy Reddy [Ready] and James West, in Bloomington, IL.

After Phil graduated from Moore Township High School in 1959, he went on to join the military, take over his family farm and marry his high school sweetheart, Audrey Lamb. Phil and Audrey went on to have two children. Phil was so much more than just a husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a soldier, farmer, baker, line dancer and historian. He enjoyed country music and gardening to feed a village. He was a regular at American Legion fish and chicken frys. He was a friend to everyone that met him. He was an honest man of integrity.

Phil is survived by his wife; brother and his wife; son and his wife; daughter and her husband and four grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at Farmer City Woodlawn Country Club on November 27th, from 2 - 5 PM.

He is now gone, but will never be forgotten.
