Funeral services for Mrs. Ophelia Rodgers, 76, of Henrietta, were to be conducted at 1 pm Wednesday, May 11, at Davis Funeral Home Chapel, Henrietta.
Rev. Ted Traylor, pastor of Henrietta First Baptist Church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Jack Busby, pastor of Henrietta First United Methodist Church. Burial was to be in Elbert Cemetery under direction of the Henrietta funeral home.
Pallbearers were Joe Hill, Jerry Vincent, Keith Bailey, Kenneth Magee, Tex Prather and Bill Grimes.
Mrs. Rodgers died Saturday at Clay County Memorial Hospital, Henrietta. She was born Aug 2, 1906, at Crosscut, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. C.W. (Melinda) Lawler. She married Hiram Virgil Rodgers on Aug 31, 1924, at Olney and was a housewife. He had lived in Henrietta ten years.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Lue Palmateer of Henrietta; three grandsons, Rodger Palmateer of Fort Hood; Johnie Palmateer and Michael Palmateer, both of Henrietta; and one great-grandson, Harold Palmateer of Henrietta.
Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Virgil Rodgers.
